Privacy notice · draft for legal review
coFairly helps parents coordinate family life. This notice is awaiting review for the countries where the service will operate.
Who operates coFairly
The operator’s legal name and contact details must be confirmed before general availability.
Information you choose to share
We use your email and account profile to provide access to your workspace. Family records include children’s preferred names, optional care details, schedules, messages, expense and payment records, and uploaded documents. Share only the information needed for coordination. Payment records are entered by parents; the app does not move money.
Who can see family records
Active members of the same family can access shared records. Account preferences and support requests are private to the requesting account. Authorised operators may access information to support the service. Ending family access does not erase existing shared records. Private document links expire after 60 seconds; anyone holding a valid link can use it until it expires.
Storage and communications
Supabase provides authentication, database and private file storage. Regional display preferences are saved on your device. Account sessions use cookies. Where email delivery is enabled, invitations and optional activity emails are sent through the configured email provider. Activity emails do not include message text or child care details. The operator must confirm hosting regions, provider contracts and safeguards for transfers between countries.
Optional phone notifications
When you enable phone notifications, we store a device subscription linked to your account and workspace in a private server database. Delivery uses your browser’s push provider, which may be Apple, Google, Mozilla or Microsoft. Alerts contain generic activity text, not message content, child names or expense amounts. You can disable alerts for your device in Settings. Signing out removes registered phone subscriptions for your account.
Uploaded files and retention
New images are re-encoded to remove location and device metadata. New PDFs require a connected safety scanner before they can be uploaded. Existing family records are not automatically erased; deletion requests are reviewed to protect both parents’ records. The operator must approve the retention schedule for family data, uploaded files, account requests and backups. Application backups use encrypted storage and reviewed rotation; provider backup arrangements require separate confirmation.
Access, correction and deletion
You can edit your profile and shared child care details, download accessible family records in Settings, and download original files from Documents. You can request account deletion and track the request in Settings. Deletion requires identity verification and review of shared records; submitting a request does not immediately erase the family’s history. Retention periods, legal holds and backup deletion rules must be finalised with the operator’s advisers.
Questions and privacy requests
If you cannot sign in, the support page accepts an account or privacy request using your reply email. These requests are stored privately for the operator to review. Use Support and privacy help or your published privacy contact. This draft does not establish compliance with the privacy laws that apply in your country.
